DUI LAWS

Drunk driving is one of the Mid-Atlantic Region's deadliest and most serious crimes.

Driving with a BAC of .08 or higher is illegal in every state.

With a DUI arrest you will lose your driver's license. According to the Thomas Jefferson Area Community Criminal Justice Board total costs of a DUI arrest are between $5,000 and $20,000.

That's why local law enforcement officials join with hundreds of other law enforcement and highway safety agencies throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region to support the annual Checkpoint Strikeforce crackdown on impaired drivers.

Every year, thousands of impaired drivers have been stopped, arrested, and taken off our roads.

The program also catches seat belt and child safety seat violators, car thieves, wanted felons and fugitives, drug users and people driving with suspended licenses.
